Robbyn's Housekeeping Schedule

        This is a basic card type system for cleaning your entire house. I learned it at a class at church. You get a pack of color coded index cards, pick a color for daily, weekly, monthly, and semi-annual. You then add your chores to the cards.

        Recently, I have adapted this to a file on my computer that I use, and it is working better for me than the cards did.

        Daily - white card

        • Sweep kitchen
        • Breakfast dishes
        • Fix dinner (after breakfast)
        • Pick up clutter 5 min per room
        • Clean one drawer or shelf in kitchen
        • Pull Monthly Card

        Weekly - yellow cards
        Monday

        • Pull monthly card
        • Pull semi-annual card
        • Dust 3 rooms
        • Vacuum 3 rooms
        • Change 2 beds
        • Water Plants and spray
        • 2 batches Laundry
        • Sort laundry for tomorrow
        • Empty dishwasher for morning
        • Family Home Evening

        Tuesday

        • Living Room & Hall Mirrors
        • Pull Monthly Card
        • Work on Church Assignments
        • 2 batches Laundry
        • Sort laundry for tomorrow
        • Empty dishwasher for morning
        • Empty Trash Baskets
        • Clean Bathroom Completely

        Wednesday

        • Pull monthly card
        • Pull semi-annual card
        • Clean Refrigerator (wipe out - don't defrost)
        • Water Plants
        • Dust 3 rooms
        • Vacuum 3 rooms
        • Change 2 beds
        • 2 batches Laundry
        • Sort laundry for tomorrow
        • Empty dishwasher for morning
        • Plan menus for week
        • Prepare Shopping list
        • Take care of Checkbook, Bills, Birthdays etc.

        Thursday

        • Grocery Shopping
        • Pull Monthly card
        • Wash mirrors in Bedrooms
        • 2 batches Laundry
        • Sort laundry for tomorrow
        • Empty dishwasher for morning

        Friday

        • Pull monthly card
        • Pull semi-annual card
        • Dust 3 rooms
        • Vacuum 3 rooms
        • Change 2 beds
        • Scrub Bathroom
        • Water Plants
        • Mending
        • 2 batches Laundry
        • Sort laundry for tomorrow
        • Empty dishwasher for morning

        Saturday

        • Precook for following week
        • 2 batches Laundry
        • Sort laundry for tomorrow
        • Empty dishwasher for Monday
        • Work on Family Home Evening
        • Prepare for Sunday (clothes & food)

        Sunday

        • Church

        * Monthly - blue cards

        • Wash living room Railings and doorjambs
        • Clean Bathroom Sinks
        • Dust and clean stereo - De-clutter entertainment center
        • Scrub Bathroom carpet
        • Clean Shower door
        • Straighten Front closet
        • Wash Patio Slider window (just wipe)
        • Wash MBR Slider window (just wipe)
        • Wash LR window (just wipe glass)
        • Clean Deck
        • Dust all pictures back ½ of house
        • Dust all pictures front ½ of house
        • Wipe off vacuum
        • Clean out medicine cabinet
        • Clean oven
        • Catalogue and straighten videos
        • Straighten and catalogue pantry
        • Clean top of refrigerator
        • Dust Plants
        • Clean stove
        • Straighten Our closet
        • Straighten Girls closet
        • Straighten Boys closet
        • Straighten His Dresser
        • Straighten Her Dresser
        • Straighten Girl's Dresser
        • Straighten Jimmy's Dresser

        • Vacuum mop boards in MBR closet
        • Wash walls in MBR closet
        • Straighten up laundry room
        • Wash down washer, dryer and freezer
        • Spot clean Living Room Carpet
        • Spot clean Jimmy's Carpet
        • Spot clean Hall Carpet
        • Wash Kitchen Rugs
        • Clean 3 light fixtures (rotate till all are done)
        • Dust and knickknacks and their shelves
        • Scrub sliding doors thoroughly
        • Clean Kitchen Table thoroughly
        • Straighten Toy area on patio
        • Straighten Sewing area
        • Clean inside of couch

        ** Semi-Annual

        • Wash all boy's blankets
        • Wash all girl's blankets
        • Wash all our blankets
        • Clean 2 doors thoroughly (rotate till all are washed)
        • Sort seasonal clothes
        • Clean Garage
        • Wash down furnace & hot water tank
        • Clean furnace room (change filters etc.)
        • Wash under and behind refrigerator
        • Wash 2 walls in house (rotate till all are washed)
        • Defrost freezer
        • Defrost refrigerator
        • Update cookbooks and files
        • Wash 1 floor thoroughly (runs mop boards etc.)
        • Wash bathroom window thoroughly
        • Service sewing machine and typewriter
        • Update photo and scrap books

        * Write monthly on the top and one job on each card. Pull one of these cards every time the daily or weekly cards tell you to. When you complete the card turn it over.. with a successful month all will be over at the end of the month.

        ** As with the monthly cards... make adjustments for your house and family, for instance the card originally read "wash all blankets in one room, rotate till all are done." I just changed to meet my house requirements.
